7-Star Phoenix Symbolism
In the western world, the phoenix represents a renewed life of purpose, in some cases refreshing and up-leveling what’s already working, and in other cases overcoming major challenges and obstacles. In Chinese lore, the phoenix represents high virtue and grace:
- virtue (head)
- duty (wing)
- propriety (back)
- credibility (abdomen)
- mercy (chest)
Two of the seven stars represent yin and yang, and the other five represent the five generating (“more life”) phases: wood, fire, earth, metal, water. When all seven are embodied, we have balance, clarity, and harmony.
All together, 7-Star Phoenix symbolizes harmonious, consistent growth so we honor and embrace our authentic selves, and then present the best of that self for the benefit of others.
